2021 Sunflowers Christmas Fayre
Updated: Jan 8, 2022
Editor's note.. Apologies for delay in posting this, Christmas got in the way!!
I’m Jen the Fundraising Lead for Sunflowers, the Christmas Market this year was an amazing success.
It took a lot of organising and planning, over many weeks, to accommodate over 40 stalls at Hellingly Community Hub. We even had some outside vendors.
At just after 9.30am vendors arrived at the Hub ready to set up. It was a bustle of energy but also extremely stressful, allocating vendors to the correct area.
Once everyone was settled, the kitchen staff were prepped and ready to take the orders for piping hot bacon and sausage baps as well as teas, coffees, cold drinks and cakes a lot of which were kindly donated to us. The kitchen got underway with the smell of bacon cooking drawing customers to them.
People arrived to visit the stalls and see Santa and his elves in the Grotto. Our resident photographer took some fantastic photos and did a great job of capturing the special moments of Santa with the children for the parents\carers.
Hailsham FM kept us entertained with Christmas tunes and our Sunflowers Raffle was an even bigger success than last summer.
Everyone had an amazing time and all the Sunflowers were extremely tired after the “big clear up” when everyone had left.
Special thanks go out to our many stall holders who came to show support, the volunteers that helped to run the event on the day, HailshamFM and to the Mayor who came to give his support through the day! And of course, don’t forget Santa!
We hope to see you all at the Easter Eggstravaganza in April!
The Sunflowers Christmas Fayre raised a whopping £1,265! Thank you to all who came along to support the fayre and Sunflowers CIC! If you weren't able to make it and want to support Sunflowers still, consider using our donate button!
